Western Nations, and now Africa and its Nations are getting their own national themed no holds barred reality TV shows where adult content filters into the society. These programmes are rated 18, but in our digital world of 'Upload', 'Download', 'Tag', 'Like' and 'Share', no one can be restrained.. at least not as much as you would have wanted due to online content availability
Such is the current reality.. immorality and lack of sanctity of values is being showed as contest, fun, and so much enjoyed by most. Even non watchers have become passive followers as information is everywhere- except you've got the head buried in the sands, you will catch up much or bits of the trend. One should worry about the de-sensitisation this brings on the society, individuals,social values and coming generations..
Minds in their formative stages, individuals having moments of confusion or lows can access these images of wild parties, sex on impulse and excessive profanity - the only consequence of which is instant celebrity status and massive brand recognition. On Air Personalities continuously invite participants to tell the 'how', 'what' and 'strategy' employed in the reality house
Why is the human mind so attracted to these things? One walks into a Salon,Restaurant or other service outlets and the TV is on this Reality programme where contestants are doing mundane things sitting, staring, quarrelling,etc
Producers have added glamour and huge elements of appeal which attract watchers and keep them on for an anticipated 'high point' which most likely will be sexual activity..
Some questions here. Is it possible that at some point in the lives of the actors in these reality shows, there was restraint for the same acts they now carry out?, Is there a new 'Social high' which gives the same effect as controlled substances which totally undresses an individual operating in that social high of all in-born and learned inhibitions?
I reckon, that de-sensitisation to a level having no regard for the effects of one's actions and implications on self, others and society at large is some big deal.
A social or otherwise induced 'high' resonates with the watcher who begins to see the activities portrayed as normal, trendy and acceptable.Some of us even become advocates and apologists for some favourite personality, canvassing support and giving excuses for their actions. Also,due to the Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) some people just must keep up with these events to keep up with the gist.. The same flood of de-sensitisation will be at hand
De sentisization will at some point lead to depravity on the part of the watcher who now has some (possibly) recessive desires raised up to an active stage - regular desire to see or put to action what has been seen, and seek new opportunities of doing them -having twisted interpretations of what their 'role models' portrayed.
Due to massive media attention, if it were possible, those (we) who try to strive for higher/ Godly standards also will be carried along and away. We need to pray for the heart of Mr. Lot who was plagued daily by the happenings in Sodom. (2 Peter 2:7-8)
I pray for that heart in today's world because our sensitivity index is changing as new lifestyles have become normal
Sensitivity index is a term I use to describe degree of acceptance or restraint to social trend
For Followers of Christ, our SI level is directly proportional to the degree of acceptance or restraint proposed to such trend by the word of God.

It is apparent that any trend showed on the big screen may pass as acceptable without a personal check with personal and if you may, Godly values.
If I like it it and God dis-approves of it, then I should not do it. We should continuously be on guard, have a resolution and ask God to help our weaknesses
Isaiah 49:25.... may God save us all from perversions with the coating of Money, Glamour and Fame
May God save our world from the likeable trends which seem to empower us, keep us free spirited.. (with a peek to the event in the garden of Eden) have ability to make one wise-- and likeable BUT are subtle weapons of :
Mass De-sensitisation WMD, and Mass Corruption WMC
This Resurrection season brings reminder that Power is made available for us to be victorious in this world. Jesus says He has overcome the world. We can overcome... We have overcome.
